Sarah was attentive to each of the different dogs in the group and was able to adapt to individual needs of the dogs as well as the owners. Sarah was always well prepared and we had a lot of fun during our training sessions. Louise & Max (2 year old Jack/Parson Russell Terrier) |

Sarah wasn't phased at all, and made sure I didn't feel embarassed when Buffy was going "a bit nuts." She gave me some good tips to help Buffy focus and learn how to socialise more effectively, so she gets the interaction she loves so much without freaking out the other dogs. Buffy passed her Level 1 test on the first try, which was a little surprising for me (because she gets distracted easily) -- but I'm pretty sure it's because she was having so much fun! A few months ago I hinted to Mum that we could both do with a little training as she had no idea how to ask me to do things for her, like coming when she called me instead of when I had finished sniffing (though I thought I was doing OK) We decided to do a basic training course with Sarah at Paw Manners. We had a lot of fun and got to do a lot of socialising with other dogs which I enjoyed and we proved you can teach an old Mum new tricks, as well as how to talk better dog language. While mum needs a bit more practise, she is much better at letting me know what she wants now and I don’t mind doing it as we have lots of fun.I used to hate having my photo taken before but now I know how to keep her happy by just sitting still now and again. I will come when she calls me too and she seems very proud of me when I wait for my dinner quietly, though she is slow! Mum wants to do some more training soon too though she is quite well behaved already. Thanks Sarah for helping us have a bit more fun together. Sue & Freckles (10 year old Fox Terrier X) |

Given Toby's age, I was a little unsure how he would go and at first he was very timid towards the other dogs and found it a bit too much but with the help and guidance of Sarah, he was running after them in no time and seemed to enjoy the social side of the class just as much as the work. I found Sarah's classes very informative and all in language that I could easily understand and then explain to others. She was also very willing to stay back after class for futher discussions or helpful tips. Toby may not be a puppy anymore but with Sarah's help you can teach an old dog many new tricks. The game that we played which showed how inconsistent we are in the directions and praise we give our pets really made me understand how important it is to think about how we train our pets, no yelling or agro necessary, just be clear. The game nearly drove me crazy, so I can only imagine how frustrating it was for Zoe when I was trying to get her to do things without clear instruction. Zoe says "Fanks for making our sessions fun..." Crissie & Zoe (10 year old Mini Foxy X Jack Russell Terrier) |
